Effects of Artificial Weathering on Properties and Structure of Ethylene-Propylene-Diene Monomer(EPDM)
摘 要
利用紫外老化试验箱对三元乙丙橡胶(EPDM)进行人工加速老化试验,采用色度计、光泽度仪、电子万能试验机和傅立叶变换红外光谱仪研究了人工气候老化对EPDM的颜色、光泽度、力学性能和化学结构的影响.结果表明,老化初期EPDM表面颜色随老化时间的延长逐渐变黄变亮,光泽度增加,18天后色差变化很小,光泽度开始下降.老化过程中发生交联反应,拉伸强度随老化时间的延长和交联密度的增加而增大.红外光谱显示有>C=O和C-O-C的生成,说明在紫外人工气候条件下,EPDM的降解产物为羰基化物和醚或酯.
Abstract
The effects of artificial weathering on the properties and structure of ethylene-propylene-diene monomer(EPDM) were studied through spectrophotometer,gloss meter,microscopy,computer-controlled tensile testing and specular reflectance Fourier transform infra red(SR-FTIR) spectroscopy.The results showed that with increasing the aging time,the surface of EPDM turned to yellow and lighter and the gloss increased in the initial stage of aging,and then the gloss decreased.The tensile strength increased with increase of crosslink density.FTIR spectra implied the formation of carbonyl groups in the artificial weathering environment.
