Effects of Nd on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of AM60 Magnesium Alloy
摘 要
用OM、SEM、EDS、XRD和拉伸试验机等分析了添加稀土钕对AM60镁合金显微组织、断口形貌、析出相及力学性能的影响.结果表明:加入稀土钕能有效细化AM60镁合金的显微组织,使Mg17Al12相变少、变细;适量的稀土钕元素优先与合金中的铝元素反应生成颗粒状(小针状)的Al11Nd3相,能有效提高合金的抗拉强度、屈服强度和伸长率;过量的稀土钕则会消耗合金中更多的铝元素并导致针状Al11Nd3相粗化,使合金的力学性能下降;试验条件下,添加质量分数为0.9%钕的合金力学性能最佳,其抗拉强度为230 MPa,屈服强度为127 MPa,伸长率为14%,分别比AM60合金提高了28%,48%和1.8倍.
Abstract
The effects of the addition of Nd element to AM60 magnesium alloy on the microstructure,fractograph,mechanical properties were studied by means of OM,SEM,EDS and XRD.The results show that Nd refined the microstructure of AM60 alloy effectively,and decreased the amount and size of Mg17Al12 phase.Nd element took a priority to react with Al element over Mg,Mn and Zn,forming binary phase Al11Nd3 with high melting point.Certain amount of Nd increased the tensile strength,yield strength and elongation.With more addition,Nd would combine more Al in matrix and decrease the strengthening effect because Al11Nd3 phase would become coarsening.The mechanical poroerty tests indicate that AM60-0.9Nd alloy had the best properties.The maximum tensile strength,yield strength and elongation were 230 MPa,127 MPa and 14%,increased about 28%,48% and 1.8 times respectively,compared with those of AM60 alloy.
