    Rapid Prototyping Manufacturing of Ceramic Parts Based on the Gelation of Slurry

    • An approach for rapid prototyping manufacturing of ceramic parts was developed by combining rapid prototyping manufacturing with gelation of slurry.At the first phase,sacrificial mold was manufactured by mold shape deposition manufacturing and subsequently the ceramic slurry was casted in the mold by in situ solidification based on gelation of ceramic slurry.The sacrificial mold was then removed and thus the green part of ceramics was obtained.Finally,the green part was sintered to get the ceramic part.Experiments show that this technology is a low cost and reasonable method for rapid manufacturing of ceramic parts especially for those with complex dimensions.
