    Effect of Iron Powder Content on Rheological Properties of Magnetorheological Glutin Gels

    • Using glutin and glycerine as continuous phases,magnetorhological gels(MRGs)with various iron powder contents were prepared.The properties of off-state viscosity,static yield stress,flow shear stress of the MRGs and storage modulus were investigated by rheometer.The results show that the off-state viscosity of the MRGs was significantly enhanced with the increase of the iron powder content.And the phenomenon of shear was aggravated.The static yield stress and flow shear stress increased as a linear function of iron powder content.Iron powder content significantly increased the storage modulus and expanded the linear viscoelastic area.
