    • There are over 470 oil and water tanks made of welded steel plates with volume larger than 1 000 m3 in Shengli Oilfield.Corrosion of these tanks has become a serious problem due to the corrosive nature of crude oil and watste water and long time in service.The locations where corrosion occurred more frequently were found based on the data of corrosion inspection for large oil and waste water tanks in Shengli Oil Field,and their mechanisms were analyzed.The corrosion inspection techninques currently used in Shengli Oil Field are described,and the corrosion protection methods are provided.
