    • The influence of Ti on the damping property of Fe-14Mn, Fe-17Mn and Fe-23Mn % alloys was studied by means of the amplitude-dependent internal friction technique. Also, the effects of Ti on phase constitution and resistance to corrosion were investigated. The results showed that the Fe-17Mn alloy possessed a much higher level of damping property than the Fe-14Mn and Fe-23Mn alloys. The addition of 1.0% Ti slightly affected the damping property of the Fe-Mn alloys. The more the conversion of austenite to martensite, the better the damping property. The corrosion resistance in 3% NaCl solution was improved about two times due to Ti addition.
